A delightful and easy Christmas toffee recipe that is perfect for holiday gifting and enjoying.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and sugar over medium heat, stirring continuously.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it boil for 3-4 minutes without stirring.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the toffee mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
  9. Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes until melted, then spread it evenly over the toffee.
  10. If using, sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  11. Let it cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
